This process aims to reduce the emotional distress associated with these memories, allowing individuals to heal and move forward.

What Can I Expect?
You can expect during the first handful of sessions to be focused on building rapport, safety, and connection with one another. Processing trauma can feel scary and I would not expect you to do this without first building trust with me. After trust is built, we will move into the processing phase, which can be uncomfortable and emotional. As a trained EMDR provider, your therapist will be monitoring closely and will support you in utilizing coping skills to regain stability, as needed.
What If I Cant Remember The Details Of My Trauma?
You still may be a great candidate for EMDR therapy. Sessions will revolve around processing your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations rather than analyzing specific details of your memories. This is one of the reasons EMDR therapy is so appealing to many people, you do not have to go into specific detail of your trauma!
Who Is EMDR Therapy Not Recommended For?
-
Pregnancy (with exception; something to discuss)
-
Chronic Dissociation or Dissociative Disorders (with exception; something to discuss)
-
People with neurological complications such as migraines (medical clearance needed)
-
Being in current crisis where one’s environment is unstable
-
Active substance use

Can I Do EMDR Therapy + Talk Therapy?
Yes! Because EMDR Therapy is structured and follows a specific protocol, there likely will not be much time to process current day to day concerns and stressors. If you find yourself needing to supplement talk therapy sessions in addition to your EMDR therapy sessions, we can do so!

ERP Therapy
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy is a highly effective treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). It involves gradually exposing individuals to situations that trigger their obsessive thoughts (exposure) and helping them refrain from engaging in their usual compulsive behaviors (response prevention).

Intrusive Thoughts
Contamination OCD
Symmetry and Ordering OCD
Checking OCD
Fee: per session $130
What Can I Expect?
ERP Therapy is a structured form of therapy. The first few sessions focus on assessment and goal setting. Once this is complete, we will move into exposure exercises and ritual prevention. Sessions typically involve creating a hierarchy of fears, starting with less anxiety-provoking situations and progressing to more challenging ones. Homework will be assigned at the end of each session to be completed prior to following appointment.
Settings ERP Therapy Can Be Provided
ERP therapy can be provided in various settings to accommodate different needs and preferences. ERP can be offered via teletherapy, within the community, or within the office setting. Each setting aims to provide a supportive and controlled environment to facilitate effective treatment.
