Trauma Therapy

You're tired of living in the past.

Trauma can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and others, affecting your relationships, emotional health, and sense of safety. You may be struggling with anxiety, trust issues, or the weight of past experiences that won’t seem to let go.

You don’t have to carry the weight of trauma alone. Take the first step toward healing and regaining control over your life.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, initially developed in the late 1980s by Francine Shapiro. Today, it is one of the most powerful ways of helping individuals heal from trauma. EMDR focuses on traumatic memories, reducing the vividness of these memories, as well as fixed negative thoughts, by changing the way they’re stored in the brain. This allows you to adequately process and store the information thus allowing you to move past your past.

Stress responses are part of our natural fight, flight, or freeze instincts. When distress from a disturbing event remains, the upsetting images, thoughts, and emotions may create an overwhelming feeling of being back in that moment. EMDR therapy helps the brain process these memories, and allows normal healing to resume.

EMDR is a structured therapy that does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or
completing homework between sessions.
